• involuntary hospitalization of incapacitated adults and other individuals

The Probate Court of Candler County has jurisdiction over the appointment and supervision of guardians and conservators of adult persons found to be incapacitated by reason of physical or mental illness to such an extent that the adult is no longer capable of making reasonable and rational decisions concerning his or her person or of managing his or her money and property, as well as jurisdiction over the appointment and supervision of temporary and permanent guardians for minors.

The Probate Court of Candler County provides marriage licenses to qualified applicants and preserves records of marriages and applications.

Application for a weapons carry license should be made to the Probate Court of Candler County if you live in Candler County, Georgia. At the time of application, you must present to the court:
(1) Georgia driver's license, Georgia State ID card, or voter's registration card with current address; Foreign nationals must have INS resident card. If you are a naturalized U.S. citizen, you should bring your naturalization papers
(2) Payment (please contact the probate court for accepted forms of payment and amounts)

The weapons carry license, valid for 5 years, authorizes the holder to carry any weapon in any county of Georgia.
